Timely Topics meets on the first and Third Tuesdays of the month to give the members of the Old Guard a vehicle to participate in discussions of topics of general interest. The Meetings take place in the Fireside Room following the conclusion of the OG Meeting at 12 Noon. Participants are encouraged to bring their lunch.
The following ground rules have been established by the Committee to insure for successful discussions.

1. The moderator will introduce the topic for the day with background and comments of approximately three minutes that will provide an overview of the subject.
2. Participants should not interrupt the moderator during his opening presentation.
3. The moderator should have several questions ready to stimulate the discussion if it lags.
4. The moderator will control the flow of the discussion. Participants should raise their hands to speak and will be recognized in turn by the moderator. The moderator will make certain that everyone has equal chance to speak and that the discussion will not be monopolized by anyone.
5. The discussion period should last no more than one hour.
6. The role of the moderator can be filled by anyone willing to present a topic, but no one will be forced to act as a moderator.
7. The topic will be announced in advance and the moderator will be encouraged to post an outline of the topic to be covered on the bulletin board, as well as providing it to the webmaster for the website.
8. Timely Topics sessions will be scheduled for the first and third meetings of the month
